try to notice it when you play next time and youll see what im talking about other than that its just generic star wars music and above average voice acting for your crew. I give a 6 because half the time especially when talking to alien creatures they just repeat the same lines over and over without any variation. SOUND - 6 Nothing to special here but pretty good sometimes funny voice acting. character models are also pretty good but again outdated. the best looking planet being Tatooine but they are horrible they are better than average. Otherwise, this is an extremely mediocre CRPG.Ģ3h 7m PlayedGRAPHICS - 6 The graphics are out of date by todays standards and i think for that times standards as well its not a beautiful game to look at, As there is a lot of land to explore but it just shallow half the time while exploring. Overall, if you're a Star Wars fan, you should give this a try, at least through the first planet. There are some good puzzles and fun side quests too, and good gear pacing. There are some positives - the voice actors do a good job and the world building is amazing for when the game came out. The characters in your party are fairly interesting, but not enough to keep me going. The story is pretty generic, maybe if you're a big Star Wars fan it'll be more interesting, but to me it was not nearly captivating enough to forgive the forgettable gameplay.

Most areas are utterly empty and linear, mostly just walking in a hallway. Mechanics are terribly shallow (most skills in this game are utterly useless - why put points in security when bashing has no penalty?) and one-dimensional. The combat is boring, with very few, if any, active abilities - just click and maybe chuck a grenade or use a force power. Even for the early 2000s the gameplay is poor. I got to the end of the second planet and decided to shelf the game - maybe it gets better but I was utterly unimpressed.
#STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC SWITCH REVIEW MOD#
Instead, the game feels like a mediocre Neverwinter Nights mod with Star Wars IP propping it up. I was expecting an incredible story and a great, albeit dated CRPG with solid character building and immersion.

KOTOR is unfortunately one of the most overrated games I've played in awhile.
